Second annual MSP Iranian Film Festival in the US has praised ‘African Violet’.

Second annual MSP Iranian Film Festival in the US has praised ‘African Violet’ by Iran female director Mona Zandi Haqiqi.

The title will enjoy two showings at the event presented by MSP Film Society - the US state of Minnesota's premier film organization and home to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival .

The award-winning title described by the event’s official platform as “compassionate drama of strength and reunion” will go on the silver screen on August 16 and 18.

The 93-minute ‘African Violet’ is about Shokouh, a woman who finds out that her ex-husband, Fereydoun, has been placed in a nursing home by their children.

She and her second husband take an unconventional step to take care of Fereydoun in their own home.

'African Violet' has won Special Jury Prize at the Tripoli International Film Festival, Lebanon.

The MSP Iranian Film Festival is organized by the Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) Film Society.

The 2nd edition of the event is slated for August 15-18, 2019.
